Stephanie first made her appearance at WWF as Mr. McMahon's sweet innocent daughter. She took center stage in her first storyline when The Ministry of Darkness leader, The Undertaker, took an unnatural interest in her. He continued to stalk her for weeks until he finally abducted her. She was rescued by Stone Cold Steve Austin, much to the chagrin of her father, Vince McMahon. Later it was revealed that her abduction was all orchestrated by, none other than, her father. Yes, he wanted to persuade Stone Cold to lower his gaurd and he used his own daughter as bait. In the next few months, Stephanie seemingly forgot about this and moved on with her life; she even began to date WWF superstar Test. As a matter of fact, they were to be married when she pulled one over on her father and married his nemisis at the time, Triple H.

She has since been present at Triple H's side and stood next to him while he once again regaied the much sought after WWF Heavyweight Title. At one point, she won the Women's Title. Together Triple H and Stephanie were the epitome of power in the squared circle. They even ran the day to day operations in the absence of her father and brother, Shane. For a short time, Stephanie even managed and escorted the Olympic Hero, Kurt Angle, to the ring. Her affiliation with Angle was only a set up for our American hero. Eventually, she rejoined her family while a beleagured Vince contended with his son's acquisition of rival wrestling league, WCW.

When Triple H suffered a severe leg injury, Stephanie quitely made her exit, but this was not to last as she made her return as the new owner of ECW. She joined her brother in a union that has come to be known as The Alliance. Since that time, Stephanie had spent a great deal of her time combating the slanderous remarks of Chris Jericho. She has on several occasions enlisted the aide of others to end his career, always to no avail. With a loss by The Alliance at Survivor Series, Stephanie was unceremoniously ejected from the WWF by her father.

In a rare show of compassion, Mr. McMahon made peace with his daugher later that year at Christmas. It appeared that all was improving for the Billion Dollar Princess. She was back in her father's good graces, and her husband, HHH, was only weeks from returning to the ring. Thus Ms. McMahon-Helmsley began plotting her revenge on those she veiwed as direspectful of her power. When HHH returned, however, the last thing he had on his mind was defendeing his wife's smeared honor. In an attempt to win back the loyalties of her husband Stephanie enlisted the help of an infomercial actor to pose as a doctor, and news was released to the world that the first couple of wrestling were about to become a family. On the eve of renewing wedding vows, HHH was informed, by none other than Stephanie's own mother, that the pregnancy was a scam, and instead of renewing vows, HHH demanded a speedy divorce. In a move to seek revenge, Stephanie alligned herself with HHH's then nemisis, Chris Jericho, who at the time was the first (and some would say greatest) Undisputed World Champion. Unfortunately Jericho lost the belt and in an attempt to regain it for Jericho, and humiliate HHH, Stephanie threw herself into a title/retirement match. She lost. But as we all know, saying good-bye is rarely a permanent event in the WWF.

This week on Smackdown Vince will announce the new general manager, and all rumors point to Stephanie's return to the WWE.
